Renaissance Fusion selected
for the French Tech 2030 program
Renaissance Fusion has been recognized among France's most promising deep-tech companies for its contribution to developing critical technologies for fusion energy.
October 20, 2026 - Renaissance Fusion has been selected for the 2026 cohort of French Tech 2030 in the Energy category. The announcement was made on October 16 in Paris, in the presence of Anne Le Hénanff, Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs.
Reacting to the announcement, Sam Guilaumé, CEO of Renaissance Fusion, said:
"Amid growing international competition, this recognition sends a strong signal: French startups are leading the way in industrializing breakthrough technologies in strategic sectors such as fusion energy."
French Tech 2030 is a flagship national initiative that brings together 80 of France's most promising startups and scaleups developing the strategic technologies that will shape the country's future. The program supports companies operating across eight key sectors: space, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, electronics, energy, health, robotics, and cybersecurity.
The selected companies were chosen by a committee bringing together leading actors from the French deep-tech ecosystem, including the Direction Générale des Entreprises (DGE), France Deeptech, Bpifrance, Sopra Steria, and Scaleway.
For Renaissance Fusion, this distinction represents a strong endorsement of the outstanding work of our teams, in France and Italy, to develop the enabling technologies, such as wider-format HTS tape, needed to make fusion energy an industrial reality.
It also reflects the growing importance of fusion energy in strengthening Europe's energy sovereignty, industrial competitiveness and decarbonization ambitions.
