IT Administrator

We are looking for a versatile and solution-oriented IT administrator to deploy, manage and maintain the IT, network and computational infrastructure of our company, including an HPC cluster, and rely on a as-needed basis, on cloud services and external supercomputers as we grow our operations.
Responsibilities
Individual responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain the company network and company user systems
Monitor and maintain the company small-scale linux HPC cluster, organize the cloud bursting and ensure it keeps up with company needs
Specify, purchase, install and configure new hardware, user systems, and software to meet the company objectives at the lowest cost possible
Define and enforce the company IT policy
Implement security protocols and procedures to prevent potential misuse, harden our network against external threats
Assist with troubleshooting complex technological problems
Create user accounts and perform access control
Create robust back-up and archiving system for company data
Manage licensed software and configure the company license server for Mathematica, COMSOL and other proprietary software
Responsibilities as a team member:
Work closely with the Science and Technology teams to assure smooth operations
Work closely with the purchasing team to define general and specific IT needs for new and existing members, and assist with the purchasing process of IT equipment
Qualifications -essential:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar
3+ years of experience with IT systems, networks, and related technologies
Solid knowledge of best practices in IT administration and system security
Ability to explain complex IT matters in a clear and concise manner
Advanced level of English (B2 minimum)
Ability to adapt to various types of situations and people
Ability to train colleagues to IT best-practices and new policies, especially those who do not have solid IT proficiency
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Qualifications -essential:
Experience with HPC deployment, Slurm Workload Manager and managing a scientific cluster
Experience with configuring and managing cloud-bursting for an on-premises cluster
Experience with CD/CI and git version control
Experience with both Linux and Windows systems administration
French and/or any other language
