Renaissance Fusion welcomes leading Liquid Metal and Plasma Physicist
Dr. Daniel Andruczyk to its STAC

Renaissance Fusion adds another world-class expert to its Senior Technical Advisor Committee (STAC) with the appointment of Dr. Daniel Andruczyk, a leading specialist in Plasma Physics and Liquid Metal technologies.

June 8, 2026 - Daniel obtained his PhD in Plasma Physics from the University of Sydney, Australia. He did his postdoctoral work at theMax-Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, Greifswald (2006-2009) where he did plasma diagnostics, heating and control systems and at theUniversity of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2020-2011) doing liquid metal plasma material interactions and liquid metal technology development.

From 2012-2014 he was at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) doing liquid metal studies.

In 2014 Daniel was part of the team to bring the former WEGA stellarator to the University of Illinois and renamed it HIDRA. As a Research Assistant Professor, he became the PI running HIDRA and was promoted to Research Associate Professor in 2020.

In 2021, he became the Director of the Master of Engineering in Plasma Engineering program. Daniel has extensive experience with liquid metal science, technology, and systems, in particular liquid lithium.
