As a member of the liquid metal experimental team, we are looking for a control engineer with a strong technical curiosity, rigor, and precision to set up a flow control feedback loop to stabilize (in thickness and uniformity) thick layers of flowing liquid metal by applying electromagnetic forces.

Responsibilities

• Identification of the most appropriate sensors (such as ultrasonic, electric resistance…), actuators, and data acquisition systems for the feedback loop, given the characteristic time- and space- scales of the flow instabilities at play

• Processing sensor data

• Tweaking of actuator settings

• Working on prototypes: development, reflection, experimentation

Qualifications -essential:

• Degree in control engineering or closely related field:

-Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years’ professionnal experience

-Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years' professional experience

• Commitment to and experience in following good practice and national and international Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) norms and regulations

• Fluent in English (B2 - C1)

Qualifications -desirable:

• Ideally: knowledge in fluid mechanics (flow control)

• Mastering control engineering in an R&D environment

• Experience in designing control algorithms (ideally for MIMO systems)

• Experience in implementing control algorithms on real time systems
