We are forming a team of the brightest, most driven scientists and engineers to realize and commercialize non-fusion HTS magnets and Liquid Metal (LM) solutions within 2 years, and fusion magnets and integrated fusion solutions within 10 years.
Specifically, we are looking for a skilled, resourceful technician to lead the assembly of the structural parts of a physical vapor deposition (PVD) machine and a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) machine. These systems will be used for the deposition of High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) materials.
Our team is young, agile, international, and based in the exciting city of Grenoble, by the French Alps.
Responsibilities
Individual responsabilities:
Assembling the reactor parts: ion sources, magnetron cathodes, vapor delivery system, vacuum pumps...
Commissioning of the reactors.
Upgrading and maintaining the reactors when needed.
Construct structural parts of the deposition systems.
Responsibilities as a team member
Contribute to CAD designs and to writing specification documents, in collaboration with the HTS mechanical engineer.
Offer and receive feedback to/from other HTS team-members about essential requirements and desirable features for the PVD and CVD reactors. Strive to integrate them in the machines or invent alternative solutions.
Qualifications -essential:
Associate degree in engineering technology, vacuum engineering or related field
3+ years of experience as an equipment technician or assembly technician or related field
1+ Experience with SolidWorks
Ability and drive to engage with a team of scientists and engineers, understand complex descriptions and needs, and ability to translate them into technical requirements and “on time, on budget, on specs” designs.
Organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and will to learn.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Qualifications -desirable:
Experience in the semiconductor and/or superconductor industry.
Experience in machining or operating physical and/or chemical deposition machines.
