Manufacturing High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) Coils for Stellarators & Tokamaks

Stellarators & Tokamaks are magnetic confinement devices producing fusion energy. This animation illustrates the fabrication of their coils using newly available Rare Earth Barium Copper Oxides (REBCO) superconducting materials. These generate very strong magnetic fields that make the devices more compact and cost-effective.
